I’ve been playing Steins;Gate Elite on my Switch lately and daaaaamn this is the longest visual novel I’ve ever played (granted, I haven’t played that many); I’m over 15hrs in and I think I’m not quite halfway. But it’s also extremely well written and the production values are crazy high (I remember trying out the original on my Vita which had the old still-frame art and I had a hard time getting into it because I wasn’t able to follow the story very well. The new, fully animated visuals on the Switch are much more immersive and lend a great deal more clarity to the accompanying dialogue). My only complaint is that some scenes tend to drag; it can sometimes take hours of plowing through somewhat banal conversations to get to the more riveting time-travel parts. But overall I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait to see where the story leads.
