Chapter: Chapter 7: Asylum From Memories
In this page we learn that Rava likes to talk and Anor likes to ignore.
I started reading the manga Platinum End, and I really like it so far (I’ve only read the first two volumes). The art is simply fantastic and the story is well written, which isn’t surprising, as it’s by the same creators who did Death Note. Also, it’s a dark urban fantasy involving angels and intense moral dilemmas, so that’s right in my jam. X3
Time dilation between realms/worlds? Is that why everything still looks functional?
Nah, it’s just pure luck that the power in that section of town is still running. Some areas got hit harder than others. All of the electricity in the city is being powered by individual generators that only cover a block or so, and the one on Anor’s block happens to still be working (since the current year in Terra is 1798, power grids aren’t a thing. All their modern tech is borrowed from Earth and is being implemented on a small scale).
It’s disconcerting to have him think about electricity while turning on a faucet.
My first thought was, why do they call water “electricity” here?
Also, there are generators around big enough to power hospitals (and I’m sure one could be made big enough to a city block or two) but they eat fuel like crazy, which is why they only get used when the grid goes down.
Depending on where the city is located, it could be more efficient to have a rooftop windfarm, or a nearby hydro plant, than it would be to bring in a tractor/trailer of fuel once a week or more.
Because without electricity, there’s no running water.
