GBA Mod Projects
I mentioned a bit in my last art post that one of my new hobbies is modding/repairing game consoles, and yesterday I got my custom lid insert in the mail so that this GBA could rock my own art. This GBA is one of my proudest pieces, and I’ve done quite a bit of work on it. Those LED lights were the trickiest mod I’ve done so far — and one I don’t think I’ll want to tackle again for a good while.
I’ve made a number of other GBA builds, as well! While these two don’t feature my own art and are mostly just shell/LCD glass swaps, I’m still very pleased with the quality I was able to get.
At some point I might also show off work I’ve done on DS and Switch consoles (I must admit it’s very nice to have the know-how to repair drifting joy-cons myself. Before I did, I was accruing quite the pile of unusable controllers).
That is pretty dope LEE! Really nice work Micro miniature repair is NOT easy!
Thank you! 😀 I think all those years of doing detailed pencil work & making figurines with polymer clay definitely helped; I’m used to working with tiny, fiddly projects.
