Today’s chapter special is a lighthearted, LGBTQ-friendly action/comedy novelette starring Rava. Ever wonder what the world is like through a fire daemon’s eyes? Three years before he became embroiled in the deadly search for Arivan, Rava had to endure the worst horror imaginable: homework!
There’s always a lot of invisible work that goes into posting projects online, and this one was months in the making. I had to: learn the quirks of compiling in Scrivener, find a work-around to create a kindle file that would work properly on both a kindle device and the mobile phone app, find, purchase, and learn how to use this flipbook software, invent a work-around to get the flipbook to display in the comic area by manipulating WordPress widgets, come up with a work-around to get WordPress to generate a thumbnail for the archives since this is using a widget rather than a proper post, AND learn Affinity Publisher so I could format and print out physical zines. Not to mention write and edit a cohesive 7.8K word novelette. So uh… I sure hope you guys will like this. (sweats) I know it’s a bit rough around the edges (especially because I couldn’t find a beta to read it before I had everything prepared for release — I do have a couple now for future prose stories). I’m still proud of it, however, and I’ve gained a whole lot of valuable experience from putting everything together.
I plan to create more short text stories to compliment my comics, so please be sure to tell me what you thought of Rava’s Awful, Amazing Day. I will be posting/publishing all of my prose work under the pen name Lee Jacobs.
You can download the eBook for free (or tip $1) on itch.io!
Just read your archive, and I love this comic. This text story was a fun read as well, hopefully more is to follow in the future!
Thank you, I’m so glad you like it! There will definitely be more- both comic and text stories, though I’ll be switching updates to my second comic for the next few months. 🙂
